A Bird's Life For Me...

First of all, I find it hilarious that my blog is mirroring Sarah's blog with the whole bird incident thing.

Last night as I walked past my front door on the way to the movie theater, I saw the strangest thing. A pigeon and a bunny sitting right next to each other only 15 feet from my front door. I thought it was a cute scene, but didn't really give it much thought after that.

This morning as I left for work, I noticed that the same pigeon from last night was still on the porch, very sickly looking. When I got to work I decided to do some research on sick pigeons because this particular pigeon, whom I'm calling Charlie, had bands around both of his ankles, therefore, he had to belong to somebody!

I found this awesome message board that reminds me of Soundpost but instead of people's interests being about a band, their interests are about....pigeons.

I joined the board and started detailing my situation to the members. Before long these people had me outside with a "Pigeon Catching Apparatus" (I like to call it....a stick), and "Magic Water"--as my mom calls it, some sort of rehydrating fluid consisting of water, sugar, and salt, trying to coax the bird out from under my car and into my make-shift pigeon hotel aka a box.

Its taken me 4 hours to catch that stupid bird....Charlie. But alas, I finally have him. He is now resting comfortably in the garage with a heating pad, magic water, and ground up seed. My dad thought it would be a great idea to put bird seed in a blender without the lid on top.....it was a great idea. Seed went everywhere, I think I still have some in my hair.

My mom says that with our family's luck, the bird will accidentally drown in his magic water. Charlie, be a smart bird, don't do that.

The End. For now.
