Yesterday Shay and I went to a park near Los Alamos, NM called Bandelier. Basically, the best way to describe it is this narrow valley with huge rock walls on either side. Within the rock walls are hundreds of ancient indian dwelling caves and carvings. Its pretty awesome to see. In the middle of the valley is a crumbling indian village that dates back about 700 years.

It was an awesome day.







Today is Shay's final day here in Santa Fe. She leaves eeeeearly tomorrow morning, so naturally, I wanted to go out with a bang. It seems, however, that life had other plans for us today.

I knew it was going to be a difficult day to do fun stuff because I had to work, and I knew that wasn't going to be the best time in the world for Shay. But my mom decided to take my place at work so that I could leave early and take Shay to this awesome shopping place called Jackalope.

It just so happened that while I was working, my good friend Chris stopped by and decided to go along for the ride to Jackalope.

We had a really good time just browsing all of the unique and interesting cultural objects that Jackalope has. Really, the store is like this big outdoor/indoor complex with tons of stuff. Livestock, Mayan carvings, pottery, clothing, eastern furniture, and in my opinion the coolest thing, a prairie dog farm.

When we were finished, we decided we were going to go downtown to a historic and extremely haunted hotel called La Posada, to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. That would have been a good idea, if my car had actually started. We set in the parking lot of Jackalope for about 2 or 3 hours while my dad and Chris tried to figure out what was wrong with my car! It was an awful ending to Shay's week here, though she isn't complaining!

Anyway, since I know nothing about cars, I just decided to take pictures as my dad and Chris were looking at the engine, to occupy time.

Hey Everybody!

Its been a few days since I've written a blog, but its okay because life has been pretty boring.

This week, however, has been pretty awesome. The fourth of July was well spent with some awesome friends, and my good friend Shay is in town from Nashville. Shay & I help out on Soundpost, a message board for some friends in a band called BarlowGirl. So far we've been having a blast. Something about Shay and I is the fact that we crack each other up, so we're pretty much entertained 24/7.

Today we did a lot of touristy things here in Santa Fe. We started the day off by attending the local Farmer's Market here which was so cute and extremely "Santa Fean" There were tons of people, and some awesome live music played by very hippy looking people.

After the Farmer's Market, we went to downtown Santa Fe where Shay got to see some of our more famous sites.

Shay had been doing some research on Santa Fe before coming here and found out about a local wine tasting festival that was happening here today, so when we were finished downtown we headed to the wine festival. Something I've learned: I love wine, Shay hates it. Good times.

The wine festival was at this old historic national park called "Las Golondrinas" It was so cultural! I loved it! We were able to go into these old houses that date back to the early 1700s. so much fun.
